If it were just one game, maybe there'd be something to to worry about, but in a 7-game series, I'd hesitate to call anything about the Suns "scary" to the Lakers. Nice post.

I couldn't agree less. I gotta believe that when Mr. Naismith was in the YMCA creating this game, he was thinking of a way to unite 5 players toward a common goal, no one person being more important than the others. The NBA raises one person to the top of the totem poll and shouts "HE [MJ, AI, Kobe, LBJ, etc] IS THE MAN!"

We, the fans, have created this phenomenon. We are selfish, egotistic, and heartless by nature and by fault. The NBA knows this and feeds our urge.

Yes, the point of the game stays true; score more points than the other team. However, basketball is not a constant game of 1-on-1 and X's and O's often lead to NBA championships, see Phil Jackson's triangle offense. Because fewer NBA teams consistently execute a cohesive offensive strategy and NCAA team do...I'll take college hoops over NBA everyday.

What do you think will happen to the NBA if they continue promoting the "chosen one" strategy? Kobe, Agent Zero, Carmelo, and AI are examples of people put on pedestals only to be found out as unworthy. With infidelity, drug use, alcohol, and guns now being the face of the league. With players getting paid as much as they do, NBA basketball has turned into a gimme, gimme, gimme game. Basketball is about so much more than that...at least I hope it is and I believe Mr. Naismith hoped so, too.

I grew up in Inglewood. I can remember my father (an Inglewood policeman) taking me to the construction site for the Forum when I was 8. I can remember my first hockey game at the Forum. I was 14, my father was working security at the Forum. I did not want to go, but after the first 5 minutes of the game, I was hooked, and since then, still hooked. In 1975 I was hired as an usherette. Ha-Ha... Back in the 70's, the uniform was a short togo with the go-go boots and a belt with tangles at the end. I worked at the Forum from 1975 to 1988. I ended up in the box office in 1978 till 1988. My life was the Forum... I lived and breathed the Forum. I didn't realize how lucky I was to talk to Kareen, Magic, Cooper, etc.... The best Laker team (to me). I never realized how lucky I was to have met and known so many pro players. The Kings, many were my friends back in the day, which made the game the much more exciting to me. Lucky enough for me I was able to meet players like Bob Gainey, Patrick Roi, Wayne Gretsky, Luc, and many more great players. I was lucky enough to meet people like Jack Nicholson, Stevie Wonder, Tony Danza... The list could go on.
I miss the Forum. I miss the warmth there.
I'm sure Staples was somehow a good move for the owners, but I feel that when I go to a game there, it's just a great big commercial.
At the Forum, in between periods, the entertainment was watching the zomboni cruise across the ice.
At Staples, in between periods you get to watch commericals on the overhead scoreboard. Too much sales going on.
Whatever happened to going to a hockey game without commercials?
I guess it's called progress.
All in all, I can say that I am one of the most luckiest people alive to experience the Lakers and Kings from day 1 at the Forum.
And not to mention all the concerts I was lucky to experience from day 1

Nice career spotlight here--funny how in sports with larger rosters players are still considered great if their teams never amount to anything, but with 5 men on the floor, no championship ring is basically a condemnation in the NBA.

T-MAC is a beast, and I thought him leaving Toronto was tough. With Carter there and them being cousins, there was a lot of possibility. I recall when McGrady turned into a super star. As a Knicks fan, its burned into my memory... The last good playoff knick team, loses to the Raptors, not because of Carter, but because McGrady was unstoppable and awe inspiring. I have to say I was one of the shmuck that followed the ESPN hype that he was a loser in the playoffs, but when you see those numbers, how can you tag him as such. One player cant do it all.

If McGrady stayed with Toronto for his whole career, the Raptors would've had both him and Vince Carter in their primes. Not sure how that would work out, but they probably could've gotten deeper into the playoffs (maybe conference finals).

LA Lakers: Grade- A: New York Vinnie wrote before the season began that the Lakers would not make the NBA Finals this season and I have not changed my mind. Coach Zen has a problem with Pau Gasol; Andrew Bynum sleeps past team flights and Ron Artest has bad feet! Not to mention that their go-to player has a broken finger and refuses to sit a game out.

I have an iPhone and I want to put music on it but it wont work. I installed the latest version of itunes and when I plug in my iphone to the computer it says Camera connected- Select the program to launch for this action. I am using the same wire that I use to get music for my ipod. Why doesnt it let me get music!! Also can I get music online from my iPhone and then it will work on my iPhone? Please help! I will give best answer. Thanks.
